CK Masonry were asked to undertake this really unusual brief.
The average block size is around 2.85m however the client wanted the island to mirror the feature on the ceiling which was 3.9m. Due to the size, we required specially sourced and quarried blocks. The colouring, markings and quality of the material all had to be confirmed prior to the blocks being cut in the Carrara Quarry. This resulted in a lead time of 12-14 weeks.
It was worth the wait as the final outcome was spectacular. The well chosen marble is resistant against scratches and will last the test of time. The worktop has a distinct look and compliments the floor perfectly.
